Equipping Ministry

"... exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For physical training is of some value, but godliness

has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."

-1 Timothy 4:7b-8

Welcome to the Equipping Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church! We developed this ministry as a means to equip believers to be salt and light in an increasingly pragmatic, secular culture. This ministry incorporates the four components listed as links below. The first component, Spiritual Formation, is designed to introduce believers, through a series of courses, to disciplines, practices and habits of the mind and heart that will enable one to persuasively articulate the fundamentals of the Christian faith. The second component, Christian Obedience, provides opportunities for believers to make application of their faith through ministering to those within and without the Church as we respond to the call to take the Gospel everywhere. To make a difference in our culture, Christians must practice a Citizenship that is rooted in the founding principles of our nation and informed on the issues we face. The corresponding link below points to useful resources as well as opportunities for dialog on issues relating to responsible citizenship. The other part of our call as Christians is to Disciple-Making. This will occur in small-group interactions that provide for mutual encouragement and accountability in growth in the faith. The links below will give more information on the various aspects of the equipping ministry.

This set the stage for other forceful worldviews to gain a place at the table. In just one generation after Joshua’s death the people did not know God as Savior and King and as a result were open to whatever accommodations were necessary to live at peace with their unbelieving neighbors.
